We are excited to announce the 3rd edition of the International Conference on Engineering and Innovative Technology (ICEIT), organized by the College of Engineering at Salahaddin University-Erbil. This prestigious event is scheduled to be held on-site on September 18-19, 2024, marking our return to in-person gatherings post the challenges posed by the pandemic.

ICEIT has solidified its position as the premier general engineering and technology conference in the Kurdistan region of Iraq. Since its inception in 2016, with the participation of 156 researchers from 14 countries, the conference has played a pivotal role in facilitating face-to-face meetings and networking opportunities among individuals in academia and industry across diverse engineering fields.

Aside from engaging discussions and presentations, ICEIT 2024 is set to feature an enlightening engineering exhibition and an interactive workshop. The conference is designed to encourage collaboration and knowledge exchange, contributing to the advancement of engineering and technology globally.

Erbil, with its UNESCO-protected sites, holds a unique historical significance. As recognized by NASA, it stands as the oldest continually inhabited city globally, with the Citadel, inhabited for over 8000 years, serving as a testament to its rich history. The city draws visitors from around the world year-round, making ICEIT 2024 an exceptional event worth attending.

The ICEIT conference, slated for 2024, stands as the premier event for engineering and technology in the Kurdistan region of Iraq. Hosted and organized biennially by the College of Engineering at Salahaddin University-Erbil, the conference has gained prominence through the publication of papers from ICEIT2019 and ICEIT2026 in the Zanco journal for pure and applied Science @SUE. However, for ICEIT2024, the publication committee is currently engaged in discussions with esteemed publishers, including Springer, Elsevier, AIJR, IOP, and The Web of Conferences. Each engineering sector’s proceedings will find a suitable publisher.

Conference Registration

ICEIT 2024 aims to cultivate a vibrant academic and social environment for our attendees. The conference encompasses research presentation sessions, an Artificial Intelligence workshop, an Engineering exhibition, Kurdish tea breaks, Kurdish cuisine, and a gala dinner featuring Kurdish music. We strive to keep the subscription fee as low as possible, thanks to the support of the President of Salahaddin University-Erbil, the Dean of the College of Engineering, and our sponsors.

Regarding the publication of research papers, the publication committee is currently in discussions with prominent publishers such as Springer, AIJR, IoP, and The Web of Conferences. Each engineering sector will be published with the most relevant proceedings publisher.

The registration fees cover attendance at all sessions, the workshop, and the engineering exhibition, as well as all tea breaks and meals, the gala dinner, and the publication of papers in the conference proceedings by a prestigious international publisher. The fees are as follows:

  • Regular paper: 150,000 IQD (100 US$)
  • Student paper: 75,000 IQD (50 US$)
  • Participants without a paper: 35,000 IQD (25 US$)

Taxi

Taxis serve as the predominant mode of public transportation in Erbil. Easily identifiable by their yellow color and marked with a “TAXI” sign, these vehicles are registered with the appropriate authorities, ensuring a high level of safety. Simply raise your hand on the street, and they will stop for you. The fare for a 10-kilometer ride is approximately 4,000 ID (equivalent to 3 US dollars).
